7 Beauty Tips and DIY Healing Recipes using Vaseline Jelly

Vaseline Jelly is a multitasking beauty staple that no girl should be without! It is one of those amazing beauty secrets that has been passed down from one generation to the next (founded in 1870), and is know to moisturize a plethora of things from your face all the way down to your toes.

The long-term popularity of Vaseline Jelly might have to do with these facts:

  • 100% pure
  • Highly refined
  • Triple purified to remove impurities
  • Safe
  • Non-comedogenic
  • Does NOT clog pores or cause breakouts
  • Hypo-allergenic
  • Non-irritating

Although there are many beauty uses for Vaseline, today I will be sharing just 7 of them.  All 7 of these recipe treatments using Vaseline Jelly can help moisturize dry, dull skin when incorporated into your regular beauty routines.

What makes Vaseline Jelly work so well?

It locks in moisture by penetrating the surface skin to create an inter-cellular occlusive barrier, which then forms a strong seal deep within the skin and traps in moisture. Furthermore, it helps fill in the skin’s own inter-cellular lipids, or the skin’s natural barrier that helps lock in moisture. This protects the skin from environmental insults/aggressors.

Vaseline also creates the conditions in skin that are known to help desquamation (natural shedding of dead skin cells) and accelerate skin’s natural barrier recovery.

Now that you understand why Vaseline works so well….

Here are 7 simple beauty recipes that will help bring your best skin forward!

I have a little tub of Vaseline to use with my nails – I’ve not heard of putting some on the rim of the bottle to prevent sticking! It’s good to put around your nails if you’re going to do a watermarble, or any nail art technique that gets messy. With the Vaseline, the extra polish just wipes off.

I need to start adding it around my nails to prevent mess ups. thanks for the tip on that!

    Amazing lip scrub wow!

I used it as a body scrub, I will definitely give it a try as a lip scrub!

if you do let me know your thoughts on it and how it worked for you! I like using sea salt because I have really dry lips and it works better for me but sugar is less abrasive for less dry lips.

Thank you SO MUCH for this! I’m a scientist, and I’ve been telling people for years (literally) that petrolatum is safe and effective when it is the cosmetic-grade that is used in beauty products. Thank you for spreading the word with such useful, insightful, and innovative tips!

Here’s also a link to an article I wrote about petrolatum, debunking rumors surrounding it. I hope you and your readers find it to be useful: http://www.futurederm.com/2012/08/27/the-truth-about-petrolatum/
