I mentioned a few weeks ago that our family was going through many changes over the next few months and I would be sharing them soon, well a few of those changes have now occurred. One of the big changes that took place was our move. Last week the family and I packed up the remaining of our house and moved from El Paso, TX out to New Hampshire/Maine to be near his family after being away for the last 14 years serving in the military. He was one of the recent cuts from the military and conveniently they cut him just a few months away from his retirement, so he will no longer get a retirement after serving our country for 14 years and moving up in ranks at a rapid speed. He ended his career as an O3-E. Another change that occurred was our purchase of a Motorhome. We knew we had a long drive ahead of us for the move and would want to be traveling to blog events on the East Coast, so we invested in an Motorhome. We are actually living in our Motorhome for the next month until we can move into our new place.
The move took us three full days and nights of driving practically non-stop. We had family and friends helping us with the drive and in total there was 4 adults, 3 kids, 2 birds, and two dogs with us. We had one 26 foot U-haul pulling our car behind it being driven, our truck pulling the largest U-haul trailer and our Motorhome. I will say the drive was much more smooth with the Motorhome and I was able to make meals for everyone during our stops for gas. The first night we drove through and finally stopped for a 2 hour nap at a truck stop around 6 in the morning and hit the road 2 hours later. The next night we did stop around midnight in Indiana and got around 6 hours rest and then drove the rest of the way through the following night. We finally arrived in New Hampshire at 5 a.m. on Friday.
I was born and raised in Arizona with dry heat and one thing I learned on our drive through the states and upon arriving here, was I don’t like humidity! I have pin straight hair and my baby hairs were curled in pin curls once we hit Indiana. I didn’t even want to put makeup on! Thankfully the humidity isn’t nearly as bad up here in New Hampshire but it’s still way more humid than I am use to. I quickly changed my makeup routine for the time being to a very natural look with minimal makeup until I can play around with what works for me out here. The last thing I want is a ton of makeup melting off my face in this humidity.
I have a ton of makeup but almost all of it is packed until we move into our new home, so I am still using the same products for the base of my makeup but what I did recently get from H-E-B and change in my routine were the following products for an affordable and natural look:
Eyeshadow: NYX Natural Naturel Shadow Palette – I love this palette obviously for the natural shades in it. NYX is one of my favorite affordable brands. The shades in this palette are very soft and natural in appearance.
Eyeliner: Maybelline New York Lasting Drama Waterproof Gel Pencil in Glazed Toffee – I love using brown shades of eyeliner for natural looks and loved that this one was Gel and Waterproof. It’s super creamy and glides on the lid effortlessly.
Mascara: Revlon Volume + Length Magnified – My mascara was running low, so I got this one to try and absolutely LOVE it! I am super picky about mascaras and will admit I typically use high-end ones but gave this one a try to am so glad I did. It separates and lengthens my blonde lashes. Plus, it doesn’t clump, which is a huge turnoff for me with mascaras.
Blush: NYX High Definition Blush in Soft Spoken – I loved the peachy softness of this natural. It’s very natural for a barely there look. If you like really pigmented stand out blush I would pick a different shade but I love this one for a natural look.
Lips: Revlon Matte Balm in Enchanting – I love the Revlon Matte Balms. They are very pigmented and apply so easily on the lips. For a natural look, I love this shade!
