Good Morning Loves!
I hope you all had a great MLK holiday yesterday. Since my daughter was out of school for the day, the kids and I took a trip to their favorite park to ride their new bikes Santa got them for Christmas. I wore this casual, yet classic look.
Chambray is one of those timeless pieces that never go out of style– same with coated skinny jeans. Everything about this outfit is basic and effortless, yet chic. Outfits like this are my go to on a daily basis. My wardrobe is full of effortless button-down shirts because they can be dressed up-or-down in a plethora of ways. Even on your most causal of days, they keep an outfit looking chic without the effort. Some of my favorite button downs have to be my chambray tops. I have several in my closest– in all different washes. This light wash chambray top is one of my most worn though. See the end of my post for more ways I styled this same top in older posts.
Now let’s talk about these coated skinny jeans..another classic basic to have in your wardrobe and one of my most worn pants in the fall and winter. More often then not, I am wearing a pair of coated skinny jeans or faux leather leggings this time of year. They just take an outfit to the next level, in my opinion. The pair I am wearing are from my favorite brand of jeans, Current Elliott—more specifically, their stiletto line. I own about 7 pairs of their jeans because they fit me like a glove and don’t stack. Being petite (5″2) that is rare to find.
Since I was spending the day with my kiddos I wanted a pair of low heel shoes that were comfy– insert these taupe/brown booties from Restricted Shoes. I have posted about Restricted Shoes shoes many times over the years and they still continue to be one of my favorite, and more affordable, brand of shoes. I love the way brown contrasts with the black.

I have also styled this light wash chambray top with a pink tulle skirt, around my waist paired with a striped dress, with a pair of white skinny jeans, denim shorts in the summer, under a bomber jacket, and with darker denim jeans (excuse the odd color hair. I was slowly going from red back to blonde).
For more chambray outfit inspirations with darker washes you can see how I styled this polkadot chambray top or this blue on blue outfit. I have also styled one with a lace skirt, and another denim on denim look.
As you can see, a chambray top is definitely versatile and a classic basic that should be in everyones closet.
