My spring and summer uniform tends to include comfortable yet fashionable basics that can be worn over and over again in a plethora of ways. I consider pieces like this to be the building blocks toward the perfect wardrobe. I want pieces that are live-in-able, as well as both trendy and timeless. Effortlessly chic staples don’t have to cost a fortune. Today, I will be sharing three different looks with three spring and summer staples that will become closet staples for you. Best part: Each staple piece is under $15 and part of the Simply Styled Line by Sears. Plus, you can rest assured that these key pieces will never go out of style.
Let’s talk about the Little Black Dress, a most definite essential in every girl’s wardrobe. Whether it’s little or long, formfitting or loose, it’s a universally chic classic. I fell in love with this LBD the moment I put it on. To keep things cool, casual and incredibly comfortable, I paired this little number with my new shoe crush— insert: the gladiator sandal. There is something about pairing black and brown together with a pop of turquoise that I just love, so to complement the brown sandals I wore this brown reversible tote and added a turquoise tassel to complement my jewelry.
Next up, we have this ever-so-comfy knit tank dress. Its loose-fitting silhouette and effortless vibe, combined with a softness that made it oh so comfy to wear, made me fall in love with it the moment I put it on. In fact, I told both my sister and mom I wanted to buy it in all three colors! At $14.99 a dress, why not?!?! You can certainly dress this little number down, but for this look I wanted to show you how easily you can dress it up for a fun going-out #ootd. For a classic, edgy but still effortless going-out look, I added this faux leather jacket over top. It’s the perfect go-to statement layer that can be worn year-round. To make this look worthy for a night out, I wore a sexy black lace-up heel sandal and added a fun embellished clutch to finish off the look. As you can see, this dress transitions effortlessly from a simple, basic dress to the perfect night-out dress.
It doesn’t get more classic than a white T-shirt. It’s a simple staple that can be worn year-round and in a number of effortless outfits. My favorite styles have a relaxed, lived-in fit and are super soft, like this simply styled scoop neck. (I ordered up two sizes for an even more relaxed fit.) For a simplistic and minimalist look, I paired this summer essential with one of my favorite pairs of light wash distressed skinnies for spring and a pair of embellished gladiator sandals. I added this gorgeous green reversible tote with a tassel to boot to finish off the look.
