young and fab holiday outfit

Hot pink may not be the first color you think of when putting together your holiday outfits this time of year, but it was one of my first choices. I myself typically gravitate toward black, white and red shades for most of my holiday looks, but this year I wanted to change it up for at least one of my holiday looks. I actually think this is a very fun, young and fab look. Plus, the fact that I added a sheer lace top and fur collar coat keeps this look very festive, even with the hot pink skirt. Of course, if you want to keep your look traditional, you can just swap out the pink skirt with a red skirt instead.

After you find the perfect holiday look you will need to pick out the perfect hairstyle. Your hairstyle can really change the way your outfit looks.

half up dutch crown braid

My go to hairstyle on a day to day basis is leaving it down with curls. I have very thin straight hair, with little to no volume, and almost never wear it straight. I also don’t look good in a pony tail either. I love the way my hair looks in braids and up-dos but I am challenged with doing them lol. It takes me longer to do an up-do then just curl my hair, so thats why I mostly wear my hair down in curls. However, I love to wear fancier hairstyles this time of year.

ULTRA CHI GLITZ and GLAMOUR Gold flat iron holiday

For the past month n a half I have been curling my hair solely with my Ultra CHI Glitz and Glamour 1″ flat iron (exclusive to Ulta). I use a flat iron to curl my hair because it lasts for at least 4 days and I can curl my whole head in less than 10 minutes. I cant go longer than 4 days without washing my hair but it holds perfectly the entire 4 days without touching is up. As a busy mom only curling my hair once every 3-4 days saves me so much time getting ready. A regular curling iron or wand falls flat after I sleep on it and I have to touch it up (basically re-curl my entire head). I can achieve very different curls and styles with my flat iron. If you look through the last month and a half of my posts, you can see my hairstyles with the CHI flat iron.

A few weeks ago I shot some holiday looks with my really good friend @Cassiadent and wore my hair down with curls I created with my CHI iron for the first look.

She is actually good at braids and up-dos and offered to quickly do my hair before photographing my next look since it was very formal. We didn’t have much time since the sun was setting but she quickly braided my hair on one side and pinned the other side for a young & fab up-do. It really completed my formal look.

I loved the braid she did so much, that I totally slept with it in and rocked it the next day. My curls were still in tact even after the hairstyle she did. The hairstyle I am wearing in todays holiday look is with the braid she did and my 3rd hairstyle after using the CHI iron.
