Last fall I was first introduced to the cape trend and immediately fell in love with it. I wanted a cape blazer, cape coats, cape jackets…. cape everything. Sadly, I never found the right pieces at the right price. They either didn’t fit, didn’t look right on, or were way out of my price range. Last month I was shopping online and came across this gorgeous re:named cape blazer on Shopbop for only $72 and immediately bought both the black and white one. I absolutely love everything about them. They are the perfect blazer to wear year round.
When I was working full time at an office I would have loved to have had a cape blazer in the warmer months because I could stand out (in a good way) while looking polished but wouldn’t be sweating bullets in my suit. Don’t think its only for the office either! The cape is actually very versatile. Dress it up for an evening out or dress it down with jeans or a pair or cool slides. The cape easily transitions to the colder months because you can simply wear long sleeves or warm sweaters underneath to keep your arms warm and it looks totally cute, especially with a pop of color or prints, like stripes.
Since its still pretty warm where I live, I layered this adorable scallop tank underneath. I think it gave the look an extra glam appeal. The tank comes in several other colors and is a great layering piece to have in your closet!
In my world, leopard is a neutral and one of my favorite ways to make an outfit pop, which is exactly why I paired this outfit with a killer pair of leopard heels and my all time favorite leopard clutch. Leopard pieces like these will never go out of style and can be worn with just about everything, so definitely worth splurging on these closet staples, though I got the heels for a killer deal..no splurge necessary 😉
I also have a pair of matching leopard sunnies, which happen to be one of my favorite pair of sunglasses. I had my eye on a pair of leopard Karen Walker ones for so long but could get myself to spend the $300 + on a pair. When I came across these beauties, I immediately ordered them and couldn’t be happier with them, especially because they are half the price of the Karen Walker ones.
For pants, I wore these Lysse Ciagrette style Pants. These are one of my favorite dressier pants for a few reasons. 1. They are comfy, which triumphs everything! 2. They hit perfectly at my ankle, which is hard to find #shortgirlproblems 3. They have a nice band that keeps the tummy looking slimmer and lastly, they gave cute little pockets on the rear. I can’t stand dressy pants without pockets, since Im not blessed in the rear department they aren’t flattering on me without the pockets.
For accessories, I kept it simple with dainty pieces. I wore this long lariat necklace, 14k gold tassel earrings and a white irradescent link bracelet. To polish of the look, I wore a bold red lip! Who doesn’t pair leopard with a red lip? I’m pretty sure I always do.
