Little Black Dress Holiday Edition

This post is sponsored by Macy’s.

It’s a modern classic that every girl should own. Whether it’s chic, sporty, short or long, it’s a staple piece in a women’s wardrobe that can take her from morning to evening to brunch the next day—both effortlessly and in style. What am I talking about? The Little Black Dress, aka LBD!

LBDs are a modern classic for good reasons. They are a truly versatile piece that can be worn all year long. A classic LBD in a figure-flattering silhouette will never go out of style. A simple change of accessories can transform the look every time. Add coats and tights in the winter, scarves and booties in the fall, glam accessories for a night out, etc. The possibilities with an LBD are endless!

Now, there is a plethora of LBDs out there, which may make finding the perfect one overwhelming. But who says you can’t own a closetful of them?! I own several for different seasons, and they all come in different cuts, styles, and lengths. My motto is, you can never go wrong with an LBD.

With the holiday season practically here, I wanted to add a few new LBDs to my wardrobe that were a little fancier than your typical LBD, making them perfect for the holidays. I ordered both of my dresses from Macy’s. They have a wide variety of dresses, and they almost always have an awesome special going on.

The first dress I picked out was a shift dress. I personally love shift dresses, and I think they are flattering on all body types. What drew me to this particular shift dress by Vince Camuto was the gorgeous feathered hem and beaded neckline. The feathered hem adds an element of fun, while the beaded neckline adds a touch of class. This dress can be worn in so many different ways. I dressed it up for a night out with a vintage jacket from my grandmother, a jeweled belt and a clutch. For another look, I added a long, red coat, which is perfect for the holidays. You can add any colored long coat for a different look as well. This look is perfect for the office, holiday parties or a night out. You could layer a bulky sweater overtop and make the dress seem like a skirt. Like I said: There are so many ways you can style this fun dress.

The second dress I picked up was much more formal and not as versatile as your typical LBD, but still a beautiful piece to have in your closet. It’s a sequined, bead-trim ball gown by Adrianna Papell. This dress is absolutely gorgeous, with the most beautiful sequin detailing and bead-trim neckline, sleeves and waist. If you are still in high school, it would be a stunning prom or winter formal dress. As a military spouse, we have a few balls a year, and this dress is perfect for that. You can even wear it for dressy family pictures!

    Looking gorgeous!

I am so in love with that long dress! That would be perfect for a more formal night or a new years party! The shorter look would be great for a work party that is semi formal. I love your looks! I really am stunned by how gorgeous that long dress is. and I agree with another commenter that it is very ‘gatsby’. Gorgeous!
