One of my absolute favorite makeup products is a lip product. I may or may not have drawers full of them 😉 Over the years I have become more and more picky about the lip products I use. I tend to prefer bold, full coverage, pigmented lip products. I want them to glide on my lips, feel comfortable on, not leave a dry feeling and most importantly… I want them to last on my lips more than a few hours and without smearing. I’m a constant snacker and frequently drink water throughout the day; so I constantly fear my lipstick smudging on me, especially when out in public. This is why I gravitate toward wearing lip stains that really last the majority of the day and don’t smudge.
I recently tried the Maybelline NY SuperStay 24 lip color and was surprisingly impressed by them. I actually first tried them out 2 weekends ago when I got them. The first color I tried out was number 105 Blush On, which is actually still my favorite lip color from the ones I have. It’s a gorgeous blush pink perfect for everyday wear. I snapped this picture while running errands mid-day.
A few days later my sister came into town to visit me. She is a makeup artist and hairstylist, so when she comes to visit, she loves to go through my makeup drawer full of new products and play with them. She saw these and was very curious about them. We actually had a full day planned on the Saturday she was here, so it was the perfect time to test out the long-lasting power of these lip colors with her.
We got ready in the morning, which included both her and I applying the Maybelline NY SuperStay 24 lip color as the final step of makeup look. The lip color was easy to apply with the slanted doe-foot applicator. It glided on smoothly and was dry within 2 minutes. It comes in a dual ended tube with lip balm on one end and lip color on the other end. You first apply the lip color to clean dry lips and once the lip color dries you apply the balm over top (It is very important to follow these instructions). Adding the balm helps your lips to stay moist and avoid them from drying out. Most lip stains tend to dry out the lips and that would have been the case for this lip color except that the balm keeps that from happening. All of the colors I have tried have been very pigmented and gorgeous.
After getting ready we headed out to see the new Mother’s Day movie followed by having lunch. My sister looked at me after eating her lunch and said, “wow my lip color is still there even after eating, I’m impressed!” After lunch we ran to the grocery store to get her and her kids a few groceries (their not a fan of healthy food that I have haha). We ended the night binge watching shows at home since neither of us get to ever binge watch tv. Both of our lip color lasted through out our day. We didn’t leave them on for 24-hours but they lasted for us throughout our 8ish hour day with just the balm needing to be re-applied for moisture.
Applied First Thing in the morning
Photo snapped about 4 hours later with no added lip color, just added the clear lip balm.
Photo snapped an additional 4 hours later (8 hours from being first applied). No added lip color, just applied the clear lipbalm.
The next color I tried out was number 015 All Day Cherry, which is the perfect red lip color. I actually didn’t have time to shoot the look I wore above wearing Blush On when my sister was here, so I photographed it during a photo day I had a few days later. I decided to wear All Day Cherry for the photo shoot instead of Blush On. Sometimes I get so busy with my days that I don’t actually get to shoot the looks I wear the day I wear them and I dedicate 1-2 days a week where I actually photograph my looks, which can be an all day process from prepping the looks, loading the truck with all my clothes and accessories, scouting locations, taking the pictures, etc. 90% of the time I change outfits in my truck, so it’s important that my lip color stays on throughout my shoots and without smudging when I change. Below I am wearing All Day Cherry in my photo shoot. With reds I tend to line my lips with a liner first because they tend to bleed but I wish hadn’t with this lip color. After using these lip colors daily over the last few weeks I realized they don’t need a liner and the liner I did use on this day was a tad darker then the lip color I had on, so it looks semi faded in the middle of my lips in this look. That wasn’t the lip color fading. Just wanted to point that out.

Yesterday I had full day of boring errands to run, (i.e. dr. apt, post office, grocery run, etc.) so I once again grabbed one of my Maybelline Super Stay 24 Color to wear, so I didn’t have to worry about my lip color through my day. This time I wore number 060 Wont Move Mauve. I love this mauve shade! Again, it lasted on me all throughout my busy day, which included lots of eating and drinking to keep hydrated. P.S. I promise these stipe shirts are totally different haha One it a long sleeve button down and the other is short sleeve. Apparently I like stripes 😉
So whether your having a fun day with family or friends, a full work day or simply running errands all day, then Maybelline Super Stay 24 hour Color is the perfect Lip product to get you through your busy day. Your lip color shouldn’t be one of the things you have to worry about when you’re having to much fun or are to busy to even remember to re-apply your lipstick.
