T3 Source Shower Filter

For those of you who have been reading my blog for a while now, have probably read a post or two about my hair care routine and favorite hair products. There is however, one thing I have never mentioned before and it just so happens to be the most important thing keeping my hair more manageable and healthy. So what is my secret? It’s simple. I use a shower filter, more specifically theT3 Source Shower Filter.

With the T3 shower filter you can expect to have healthier hair, skin and even nails! How does having a shower filter help? Well one of the biggest culprits of dry damaged hair, skin and nails is due to chlorine and the T3 Source Shower Filter just so happens to reduce the amount of Chlorine in your water by 95%.

The T3 Source Shower Filter also has the following clinically proven benefits:

  • 64% Reduction in Frizz
  • 28% Increase in Body
  • 47% Increase in Comb-ability
  • 28% Increase in Shine

Once the chlorine is removed from your shower water, your hair, skin and nails will no longer be dry but instead full of moisture and health.

The T3 Source Shower Filter comes with 8 different spray settings which you can see in the photos below.

  1. Fine
  2. Medium
  3. Massage

  5. Fine Medium
  6. Medium Massage
  7. Massage Full
  8. Full-Fine

I first started using a shower filter when I first moved out to GA 7 months ago. I noticed that the water was very harsh and my hair was just not the same as it was back in AZ. It did not matter what shampoo, conditioner, hair masks, etc. I used, nothing worked. I also noticed breakouts in my husband’s skin and mine so I decided to by a shower filter after seeing the benefits of using one on a TV shopping channel. Once I started using the shower filter, I noticed a great improvement in my hair, as well as my husband’s skin and mine.

Now, most of you already know that I recently moved out to TX about 2 months ago. It was a three-day drive for us and we had to stay in a hotel for over a week before we could move into our new home. I had only packed my HBL volumizing shampoo and conditioner (I like to use a volumizing shampoo and conditioner more often than others because I have very thin hair) and noticed that my hair was always tangled and very unmanageable after I showered, something that did not happen before when using these products. Moreover, my acne started becoming more prominent. I have been using HBL for almost a year now and love it so I knew it had nothing to do with the shampoo and conditioner I was using. Once we finally got into our home I was noticing the same thing, so I started using the Luxury line by Enjoy which I like to use when I really want to condition my hair and it always leaves it super soft and shiny. Well it wasn’t anymore, I still had tangly unmanageable hair. I was so frustrated! I finally told my husband we had to get another shower filter because I could not stand my hair and skin being like this anymore. I use very nice high-end, paraben & sulfate free shampoos and conditioners that I know work amazing on my hair but the water was just too harsh here.

We finally had a shower faucet on its way to us and in the mean time I had to use my deep hair repair masks daily when normally I only use these once every week to two weeks. Even my deep hair repair masks were not working but it was better than my daily volumizing shampoo and conditioner.

Once the shower faucet arrived, I immediately ran upstairs, switched out my old showerhead, and replaced it with my brand new T3 Source Shower Filter in a matter of minutes. It was super easy to install. All I did was unscrew the old head and screwed on the new one. I then wrapped the included white tape around and it was good to go! I then jumped in the shower, washed my hair with my HBL volumizing shampoo and conditioner, and guess what! I was able to brush my hair wet without the tangles and my hair was left volumized and soft once dry.

I have had my T3 Source Shower Filter installed in our new home for about 3 weeks now and my hair is back to being healthy and manageable no matter what shampoo and conditioner I am using. Furthermore, both my husbands and my skin is clearing up compared to how damaged it was before. Not only did my acne start to clear up but my skin was also left ultra-soft. Being pregnant and unable to easily reach my legs, I have been opting out of adding lotion to them; however, you cannot even tell that I am no longer adding lotion to them because they are left ultra-soft from using the T3 Source Shower Filter.

I highly recommend get the T3 Source Shower Filer if you want healthier hair, skin and nails. It’s a must have for me and If I could only choose one beauty product to have, it would be this.

oh my gosh–your hair always looks great–who knew–we need a new shower head soon–I’m showing this one to the hubby 🙂 thanks for sharing

    Liz @ A Nut in a Nutshell

I have a horrible time with dry hair and now I’m thinking that this could make all the difference for me. It makes sense that the hard water is playing havoc with my tresses! I like all the different settings it has too.

That’s a great shower head. Many people don’t understand that having a shower head with a filter is important for the body and hair…..great post! I like how it has 8different streams.

I am surprised that more people don’t talk about adding a shower filter. We have one and it helps my hair color and my dry skin. Some models don’t work well with warm water, so make sure you do your research.

Oh wow, I never thought that could be effecting my hair. It’s so out of control frizzy and dry. Thanks for this interesting info!

Ohh this is a pretty cool product! I have never heard of shower filter before to be honest. This is something I need to check!

I had no idea that filtering the water in your shower could make such a big difference for your hair. Certainly something to think about and consider.

I have a hand held T3 source shower filter and I absolutely love mine! I would love this one too for my other bathroom. Seriously I refuse to take a shower in any other bathroom now because they don’t have one of these!! They make a huge difference in my hair and skin. I just can’t go back now.

    Jenn Mitchell

We could really use a new shower head in our master bathroom. I will try to find this one near me and show my hubby.

Very cool! I could definitely use extra body in my hair.

    Jenna Wood

I think it’s great this sprayer has a built in filter; I grew up with a water softener in the house, and it was a rough transition for my hair when I moved out! Having filtered water definitely makes a difference!

I’ve seen several reviews for this showerhead and they have all been very positive. I love all of the different spray settings

    Lena B

I have used a shower filter for a long time and it made a huge difference for me. This one looks a lot more realiable than the plastic ones I have

I never thought of a shower head being a “beauty product” lol. LOVE the it has full massage on there!

Love love love! I have the handheld one of these and love it! Especially all the spray settings. 🙂

I really need a new shower head anyway–strange I never thought of the chlorine they add to the water as harming my skin or making shampoos not work (i have an environmental science degree)–I am definitely going to look into getting one of these. thank you.

    Taylor Rios

I really need something like this – I never thought of the chlorine in the water as the reason I might have hair and skin problems. Also, we live in apartment and the showerhead is bent down and half-sticking out of the shower wall, so it needs to be replaced. It looks like its about 20 years old LOL.

I love the filter for chlorine. How often do you have to switch out?

    Chrissy Jordan

I KNEW there had to be something like this out there somewhere! We’re military, so we move a LOT, like a lot-a lot. And when we were in Maryland my skin was always itchy and dry. Now I know! Thanks!

I had not even thought about a shower filter! I so need to look into this more. We have great drinking water, but it is not so good on my hair!

Very cool! This is an amazing and in depth review! Love it!

    Saving Common Cents

This sounds amazing…I’m completely shocked that this shower filter can have such an impact on the health of nails and hair! Thanks for sharing!

That sounds amazing! I never heard of such a thing! =)

    Mel Cole

Wow, didn’t know that water flow can damage the hair… nice shower!

    Pal Raine

Even the flow of the water through a shower matters so much to our health especially our scalp and hair. Thanks for this.

    Milena Milani Barrett

Great review. We have hard water and have to replace our shower heads frequently. I’ll have to mention this to my husband. Thanks

    Barb W.

How interesting! I never thought to use a shower filter before, but it makes so much sense. I had a lot of difficulties with frizz when I lived in Georgia. Better in Kentucky, now, but I think I’d still benefit from this. Thanks for sharing!

    Daisy Tremorev

I would love to try this to see if it helps my hair. I realized that my hair was much healthier during my pregnancy and that I used to get cool showers. I know that a lot was going on with my body during pregnancy, but I have been thinking that switching back to super hot showers after I gave birth has not been good for my hair. I’ve been using cooler water for the past few weeks to see if it helps. I’d love to try this product too!

    Crystal Threeprincesandaprince

Sounds great. I have an issue with frizz in this Florida humidity. I bet I would really benefit from this showerhead.

I have a lot of frizz from the humidity. I think this would benefit us too!

    Frugal and Fun Mom

I never even thought that chlorine could have such an effect on outward appearance. It is a harsh chemical though, so it does make sense.

    Maria - Tough Cookie Mommy

I had no idea that this would impact the texture and look of your hair. I will definitely take it into consideration.
