Next month, the familia and I will be taking a trip to FL for our first real family vacation since our son was born. Ok… we have taken family trips to visit my family in AZ and his family in Lubbock, TX, but they are both within a 5ish-hour drive and more about spending time with our family during the Holidays. This trip we will be staying at my husband’s family’s time-share and a lot of the time will be spent at theme parks, as well as the beach.
Until earlier this year, I hadn’t been swimsuit shopping since my son was born almost 2 ½ years ago. As I mentioned in my previous swim post here and here, I now have diastasi recti (abdominal wall separation) from my pregnancy with my son. I finally lost all of my pregnancy weight by eating healthy but haven’t been able to close my diastsi recti yet. I have gotten it drastically smaller and close to closing, but the slightest thing I do wrong will pop it back open. It’s been a real struggle for me and has really made me self-conscious and uncomfortable in my own skin. I can hide it easily now with flowy tops or loose-fitting tees, but form-fitting things like swimsuits make it rather obvious. Not to mention, I breastfeed both of my babies (1 year for my daughter and 2 years for my son) and my breasts are no longer what they use to be L. I know you other breastfeeding mommas out there can probably relate! The idea of wearing a bathing suit on vacation in front of so many people has me rather anxious. Needless to say, I have spent the last few months ordering swimsuits to find the cutest ones I could that were flattering but that would also hide my diastasi recti as much as possible.
I have had great luck finding one-piece/monokini suits at Target this year that have really boosted my self-confidence and made me feel beautiful in a swimsuit again. They are really rocking it in the swimsuit department! Not only are they super cute and flattering but they’re also totally affordable. Since we will be on our trip for 7 days, I wanted to bring several suit options and I totally can do that at these amazing price points. They have actually been having an incredible buy-1-get-1 50% off promotion on their suits, cover-ups and accessories lately, so I took full advantage of it and ordered some of the new suits they got in, as well as some beach bags and cover-ups for our trip.
All of the suits I have worn in my previous posts, as well in today’s post, make me feel confident and beautiful. I love that Target understands that every women has different body types and insecurities and offers an array of swimsuits for every body! I am proud to be a part of their #NOFOMO (no fear of missing out) campaign, inspiring women of all shapes to feel confident and beautiful in a swimsuit.
Not only is Target rocking it in the swimsuit department, their beach totes and cover-ups are also amazing. I’m sharing my favorite two suits I got this month and the accessories I styled them with.
This first swimsuit I fell in love with is this printed halter one-piece with the cutest banded elastic detail at the hips and back. It has a built-in bra shelf and a hook back closure for comfortable support. I paired it with this adorable woven tote adorned with tassels.
The next swimsuit I fell in love with was this plunging one-piece open-side suit with a palm print. It has over the shoulder straps with a hook-back closure for maximum comfort and support. I paired this with the same woven tassel tote that matches just about everything.
For cover-ups, I picked out this gorgeous floral print dress.
I would totally wear this with a jean jacket and cute wedges for brunch with the girls as well!
The other cover-up I went with was this adorable crotchet lace one in ivory that will match any suit I wear.
I challenge you all to take part in the #NOFOMO challenge and rock your swimsuit in confidence!
