The Urban Decay Naked palettes are by far some of my favorite palettes ever. Being a fan of Rose Gold, I personally loved the NAKED 3 palette the most but when I heard the news of Urban Decay releasing a NAKED Smoky palette I got super excited! Who’s doesn’t love a good smokey eye!? The palette is full of smokey neutral shadows that range from light, to medium, to dark tones and are perfect for creating the perfect smokey eye; whether it be for day or night time wear. Per usual, the shadows are creamy and pigmented, exactly what I have come to expect and love from Urban Decay. I love that the palette isn’t overly glittery and has a good selection of matte shadows (my preference).
Since I prefer matte shadows over shimmery ones on a daily basis, I created a subtle smokey eye that can be worn day or night. Though, if I were going to an event or night out, I would add some of the shimmery shades.
For this look I applied Combust all over my lid followed by windshield wiper motions of Whiskey in the crease. I then applied Thirteen all over my lid, avoiding the outer corner area. In the outer V, I applied Dagger to deepen the crease. Next, I applied Black Market by pressing it along my upper and lower lash line, avoiding the inner corner. Lastly, I went back in with Thirteen and packed it on just in the center of my lid. I Completed the look with a winged liner and mascara. ** Make sure to always blend out the shadows after each application.
The Urban Decay Naked Smoky palette is available this month at your local Ulta, Sephora, Nordstrom and select Macy’s stores for $54. I highly recommend getting your hands on one! Its all you need to create your perfect smokey eye.
