As part of Zoya’s 2013 Spring Collection, they released their first batch of special textured edition Polishes, also known as PixieDust ($9). The PixieDust polishes are long-wearing matte textured polishes with loads of sparkle and glitter.
Just like other Zoya Polishes, the PixieDust polishes are 5-Free. Meaning they are free of:
- Toluene Formaldehyde
- Formaldehyde Resin
Despite their textured look, these polishes glide on smoothly and easily.I found all shades to be sheer with a jelly base when just one coat was applied; however it is easily buildable. With the lighter shades I needed to apply 3 coats and with the darker shades two coats was enough. Zoya recommends applying 1-3 thin coats with dry time in between each coat. They also recommend using these polishes with no base or top coat and I agree. Oh and if you cringed at the thought of removing these due to the glitter don’t worry, the polish was actually easy to remove.
The shades included in this collection are:
- Nyx periwinkle with a sugared sparkle
- Vespa mint kiss with a sugared sparkle
- London fog gray with a sugared sparkle
- Godiva soft nude with a sugared sparkle
- Chyna red Dazzle with a sugared sparkle
- Dahlia black beauty with a sugared sparkle
Overall, I highly recommend these polishes if you are looking to try out the textured trend. These are so fun and unique!
